Denon adds new Stereo Pair to Line-up

November 23, 2009 Featured News No Comments

Denon has announced the release of a SACD Player and Amplifier to it’s UK stereo product line up. Here are the full details.

November 2009 – Denon, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of high-quality home entertainment products, has launched two high-performance stereo components to meet
the demands of even the most challenging enthusiasts. The new PMA-2010AE integrated amplifier combines both elegance and sound quality, drawing on nearly 100 years of Denon
engineering experience. Its partnering CD/Super Audio CD player DCD-2010AE is endowed with unique technologies to ensure that the sound of various sources is played more
faithfully than ever to the original recording. Both newcomers cost £1699.99.

To meet the requirements of today’s most demanding hi-fi enthusiasts, Denon’s DCD-2010AE CD/Super Audio CD player is a real heavyweight (nearly 14kg) with a precision mechanical
ground construction on a triple-layer base. A newly developed Advanced S.V.H. Mechanism with low centre of gravity and anti-vibration aluminium die-cast tray ensure optimal digital disc playback. For best sound quality, the DCD-2010AE features brand new technologies such as Advanced AL32 Processing and high-grade 32-Bit/192kHz DA converters guaranteeing highest detail levels. The new highly accurate master clock minimizes jitter as well as noise effects and achieves a clear sound image. In addition to supporting CDs, Super Audio CDs and CD-R/RW (MP3, WMA files), the DCD-2010AE has a front-USB port for connecting iPod/iPhone or USB memory and playing music files from those devices digitally.

When these digital signals are played back through the DCD’s audio circuit, listeners will enjoy the music with a rich ambiance not possible from the devices on their own. There is also a newly developed aluminium-topped remote control with all the functions needed for comfortable USB/iPod playback.

The Precision Direct Mechanical Ground Construction thoroughly suppresses vibration thus minimizing adverse influences on the output signal. The power transformer, a major source
of vibration, has been “float” mounted using a variety of vibration-resistant materials and a radiator stabilizer. A chassis construction with six independent blocks and the large 27mm
high-grade volume potentiometer further suppress external noise and unwanted interferences between the parts. To reproduce the full sonic range from soft delicate details
to powerful transparent climaxes of a musical performance, the PMA- 2010AE features Denon’s proven UHC (Ultra High Current) MOS circuitry. All relevant parts have been
strictly selected to deliver the high sound quality for which the company is renowned. Each input, including a high-performance phono equalizer (MM/MC), is equipped with machined
gold-plated pin jacks.

- UHC-MOS Single Push-Pull-Circuit for balancing details and power

Review: LG 15EL9500 OLED HDTV

OLED TV, it’s the future. Well that is what we’ve been told for the last 5 years, at least. However, it seems to have taken longer than anticipated for the technology to mature and develop and yet, even now, large screen sizes are still technically difficult to manufacture, with an acceptable lifespan and failure rate. [...]
